Were you looking for Afrolatinx and ally artists? Here is a list of playwrights that are putting in the work right now!
*For the purpose of this post, the definition of Afrolatino/a/x extends into the Caribbean and even to places like Louisiana. Many of the playwrights may not use the term “Afrolatino” to identify themselves, but it is an umbrella term to complicate the narrative of what an “Afrolatino/a/x” is. What aren’t Jamaican and Trinidadian populations included in conversations about Afrolatinidad? What about Afro-Brazilians?
David Lamb (ally)
Eugene Lee (ally)
Hector Amaya
Jelisa Jay Robinson (ally)
I’m pretty sure there are more Afrolatino playwrights out here doing the work! Do you know any Afrolatinx/ally playwrights? Comment below so we can add them to the list.
